About Us
Hyde Photographic Society is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU)
The Society was founded in 1954 by a group of keen photographers, to promote photography in the Hyde area.
One of those founder members, Norman, is still an active member and both he and his wife (also a member) are as passionate about photography today as they have ever been.
The aim of the Society is still to promote the art of photography and anyone with an interest in photography is welcome to come along to our meetings. There is a small charge of £1.50 per person at each meeting.
Full membership is £25.00 per year or £20.00 concessionary rate and this lets you enter the competitions both internal and external and also take part in any functions we may arrange.
The Society currently has 45 members.
We meet every Monday, except Bank Holidays, at 8pm at the Hyde Club, Bowling Green Street, Hyde, SK14 1DJ
We hold an exhibition of members prints each July in the Clarendon Square Shopping Centre
